Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has identified the trophy that would mean the most to him if he wins it next

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed which trophy excites him the most in world football at the moment.

Osimhen looking for next big trophy

Osimhen won his first senior club trophy with Napoli last season, helping the Partenopei to their first Serie A title in 33 years with 26 league goals, the most in the league that campaign.

The former Lille and Wolfsburg forward was speaking on the ObiOne podcast hosted by former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi when he revealed that he has now set his sights on greater things, citing the trophy he most covets at the moment.

When asked what the future holds for him trophy-wise, Osimhen replied, “The big man here [Mikel Obi] has won the Champions League, I want to win one. He is the most decorated player in Africa, I want to be there.”

Osimhen hoping to build on Serie A success

Osimhen also noted that the feeling of winning the 2022/23 Serie A title with Napoli had sparked a fire in him to win more trophies, telling ObiOne podcast hosts, “I have done the first part, now is the second part in getting some trophies. I have won the Scudetto, now I’m addicted to trophies.

“So I want to build on this momentum and try to win as much as I can. Hopefully, I can surpass him [Mikel Obi] and get to almost his level, but I’ll see about that.”

Osimhen’s Napoli were among the best teams in last season’ UEFA Champions League, blowing away most opposition and earning praise for their style of play before crashing out at the quarterfinal stage to AC Milan after the Nigerian forward missed the first leg of the tie through injury.

The Partenopei will be hoping for another strong campaign, with Osimhen looking to become the first Nigerian since Mikel to claim the biggest trophy in European football.
