Nigerian striker Asisat Oshola shares her top artistes and most played songs of the year.
Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala continues to show her love for Nigerian Afrobeats during a recent promotion for Spotify, where she revealed her most likely top-played artistes and songs of the year.
What happened
The 29-year-old striker currently plies her trade with the Spanish women’s top-flight champions, Barcelona. Oshoala is one of the best players of the club—a top five all-time scorer for Barca Femeni—and one of the most recognisable faces off it; hence, she is a regular fixture in the club’s promotions.

Digital streaming corporation Spotify is famously the kit sponsor of the Blaugrana men's and women’s teams and this has birthed several cool collaborations, including the Asisat Oshoala pre-match playlist.
Annually, Spotify releases a dossier of listening habits, which they term ‘Spotify Wrapped’, and in promoting it, they employed the services of the Barcelona Femini stars, including Asisat.
The Barca girls were asked to predict which artiste would top their Spotify Wrapped list for top artiste and top songs, and Oshoala’s answer was 100% Afrobeats.

Oshoala believes ‘Ye’ crooner Burna Boy, or the late Mohbad, will be her top artiste of the year, and the Burna Boy featured Seyi Vibez's‘ Giza’ or Mohbad’s ‘La Pio Pio’ will be her most played song of the year.
This is not the first time Oshoala has expressed her love for the late Mohbad. As Pulse Sports reported, in Barcelona’s 6-1 demolition of Granada, she dedicated one of the goals in her brace to the late Afrobeats star.
