Malawi's Chimango Kayira has praised Kenyan defender Clyde Senaji's unmatched skills at Nyasa Big Bullets.

Former Malawi international Chimango Kayira recently voiced out his concerns about the inexplicable silence surrounding the outstanding performance of Kenyan defender Clyde Senaji.

Senaji, currently playing for the Malawi champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, has displayed unparalleled skill and dedication on the field, yet his brilliance remains under-celebrated.

"There are many center backs in our elite division who are doing commendably well for their teams, but Senaji stands out like a beacon. He doesn't recklessly lose possession. Even when high-pressed by aggressive strikers, his composure is unparalleled," said Kayira in a heartfelt post on his Facebook page.

"I have witnessed him on numerous occasions driving the ball forward, covering about 50 meters, and seamlessly transitioning the team into an attack."

Senaji's unmatched brilliance is especially noteworthy, given that he joined the team at the start of the season after successful trials.

Despite being a newcomer, Senaji has already bagged a Player of the Month award, showcasing his invaluable contribution to what fans lovingly call the People's Team.

Yet, Kayira believes Senaji's foreign roots may be a reason for the perceived lack of accolades and attention.

"It's an age-old bias where players in foreign countries often find it harder to earn local recognition. But this boy's talents shouldn't be overshadowed by his nationality. If he were a Malawian, I'm confident he'd be held in the same esteem as legends like Peter Mjojo Mponda. He might even have been bestowed with the captain's armband," Kayira opined.

Kayira's sentiments also highlighted how other players, like Richard Chimbamba, are reaping the benefits of having a player of Senaji's caliber in their squad.

While some might dismiss Kayira's observations as mere bias or favoritism, the numbers and on-field displays do not lie.

The former Tusker and AFC Leopards player’s presence has fortified the Big Bullets' defence, making them a formidable force in the league.
