Victor Boniface wants a fourth Rookie of the Month award and has called on fans, who make up 40% of the votes.

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has appealed to fans and well-wishers for support as he looks to claim another Rookie of the Month.

Boniface has been nominated for the fourth consecutive month for the Bundesliga award alongside two others from RB Leipzig and Freiburg.

Boniface’s Month for Bayer Leverkusen

The 22-year-old has had a wonderful season so far for the Bundesliga leaders following his arrival in the summer.

Boniface’s sensational form saw him become Bayer Leverkusen’s main man in attack and contributor-in-chief.

The Nigerian striker has scored eight goals and assisted five others so far this season for Die Werkself, with three Rookie of the Month awards in the bag.

However, despite a difficult November, Boniface is back for a chance to win the Rookie award for the fourth time in a row.

The clarion call to fans

According to the Bundesliga website, the Nigerian international has made the list again despite not scoring a goal in the month in review.

“He’s back again for a fourth attempt in November, despite not scoring last month. Instead,” the league’s report stated. “He chipped in with two assists in the 3-2 win away at Hoffenheim on Matchday 10.”

“The Nigerian was his usual shot-happy self with 11 attempts, but he is much more than just a classic centre-forward,” added.

Following his latest nomination, the Leverkusen star has now come out to plead for votes from fans.

“Hey guys, Boniface Victor, i have been nominated for the Rookie of the Month again,” he said in a video posted by Bayer Leverkusen.

“I need you guys’ votes, thank you,” he added.

Apart from setting up his teammates and being involved in a shot every 18 minutes, Boniface proved to be the complete forward for Xabi Alonso’s men.

He did not shy away from challenges off the ball, winning 52 per cent of duels attempted.
