Wakiso Giants are reportedly preparing an ambush move for Proline FC forward Hakim Kiwanuka, who has been a top target for SC Villa.

Villa were the front runners to sign Kiwanuka, but have moved slow on the process to have the move finalized allowing potential rivals to sneak in.

Proline is very open to offers for Kiwanuka, who has not featured for the club since January, after he left the country for trials in Scotland.

The Jogoo are better positioned than the Purple Sharks though, after they agreed to personal terms with the player last week.

Reports indicate that the agreement is for a three-year contract, though the record Uganda Premier League champions are stalling on the financial package that would go with such a deal.

Kiwanuka, a rising talent who has been called up to the National team on multiple occasions, is set to reinforce SC Villa's attack.

His addition comes at a crucial time, as newly-signed Dennis Ojara is sidelined due to a knee injury.

Earlier this year, Kiwanuka left the country for trials with St Mirren Football Club in Scotland, showcasing his potential on an international stage.

If he completes his move to Villa, he joins a new wave of talent at SC Villa, including recruits like Dennis Ojara, Elvis Ngonde, Peter Onzima, Charles Lwanga, Misi Ssemugera, and Cyrus Kibande, among others.

Meanwhile, the club has parted ways with several players, including Sheif Batte, Martin Elungat, Frank Muna Kalule, Hassan Musana, Pistis Barenge, Charles Baale, Gift Fred, and Goffin Oyirwoth.
