The result implied the Purple Sharks are now winless in their previous nine games in the league, a return that is not reminiscent of their brilliant first round.

Wakiso Giants FC extended further their abysmal form following a barren stalemate with Gaddafi FC in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at Kakindu Stadium.

The result implied the Purple Sharks are now winless in their previous nine games in the league, a return that is not reminiscent of their brilliant first round.

In that period, John 'Ayala' Luyinda's charges have picked just three draws and suffered defeat on a vast six occasions.

On the afternoon, though, missing their most creative forces in Titus Ssematimba and Marvin Nyanzi and with skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo on the bench, Wakiso Giants failed to mastermind clear-cut chances for the more significant parts of the game.

Their most significant chance fell to Sharif Kimbowa in the 37th minute, but goalkeeper Chrispus Kussima denied his well-taken shot.

Gaddafi, on the other hand, were as stout in defence as ever, repulsing the opposition's attacks with ease whilst not threatening that much up front.

Star-marksman Alex Kitata was denied by custodian Bashir Ssekagya in the 67th minute for the side's most significant chance.

The result left Gaddafi sixth on the 15-team log with 29 points after 21 matches. They will visit Arua Hill SC on Saturday in their next fixture.

On the other hand, initially from being title contenders, Wakiso slipped to ninth with 27 points in 22 matches and will play host to Onduparaka FC on Sunday in their subsequent encounter.
