With three distinguished candidates in contention for the presidency, namely George Fred Kagimu, John Burrows Lumu, and James Jimmy Akena, the debate promises to be a riveting showcase of diverse perspectives and visionary leadership within the realm of motorsport.

Leading Ugandan sports channel NBS Sport is set to host the first ever FMU Presidential Debate, a groundbreaking event set to take place on Sunday, April 28th, at the Next Conference Centre.

The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) is poised to undergo a significant leadership transition, with the election of a new president scheduled for May 1st. In anticipation of this momentous occasion, NBS Sport is taking the lead in facilitating a platform for transparent discourse and democratic engagement within the Ugandan motorsport community.

The FMU Presidential Debate under the theme: On The Fast Track: Discussing Uganda's Motorsport Future marks a significant milestone in Ugandan motorsport history, as stakeholders come together to witness firsthand the articulation of plans, the addressing of pressing issues, and the sharing of visions for the future of the sport.

Victor Akatwijuka, NBS Sport Brand Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating,

“This is an unprecedented occurrence in Motorsport. We are happy NBS Sports is going to host the first ever presidential debate in the history of Motorsport.”

“We believe this debate will contribute to the advancement of sporting excellence and fostering a culture of dialogue and debate in sports governance,” he added.

The debate will be live on NBS Sport and will be hosted by celebrated sports journalist Andrew Kabuura.
