Uganda women’s senior netball star Peace Proscovia, based in the United Kingdom, has been ruled out for the rest of the 2023 Netball Super League season, her club Surrey Storm has confirmed.

The development comes when Proscovia has been enjoying sublime form in the Vitality League and is leading the scoring charts.

“We are sad to announce Bartercard Surrey Storm Goal Shooter Proscovia Peace has withdrawn from the rest of the NSL season on medical grounds,” Surrey Storm announced in a statement.

Peace will remain a part of the Bartercard Surrey Storm squad/family for the rest of this season and will continue her commitments off the court.”

Poscovia leads the league’s top goal scorer with 520 goals and was awarded the Gilbert Golden Shot award for the 2022 season as the Top Goal scorer with 853 goals and was also named the starting GS in the ALL-Star VII as voted for by all NSL clubs.

In a related development, another Ugandan shooter Stella Oyella, who features for Strathclyde Sirens in Scotland, was ruled out for the rest of the season after she ruptured her knee.

The two players were both part of the stars summoned for the national team ahead of the World Cup.
