Sergio Ramos who is widely considered the greatest centre-back in the modern era of football recently turned 37.

Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos recently turned 37.

The Spanish football legend and father of four is widely regarded by many as one of the greatest defenders of all time, having won every single trophy in football at the national and domestic level.

Ramos took to his official social media page to celebrate his new age by posting photos of himself and his family in a celebratory mood while captioning it with an emotional note to his 57.5 million fans on his Instagram page.

He wrote: “Well, it's already 37 in the dni 37, but it's still 27 in the soul and mind. Time passes but memories remain. We get older but also wiser by living life. And even though the road traveled is a little longer each time, I am excited about all that I still have to go.

“Thank you very much for all the congratulations and for so much love. And happy to live another birthday with mine. 😘❤️🎂

Sergio Ramos who is the 10th most-followed footballer on Instagram sealed a switch to PSG in 2021 after a 16-year successful spell at Real Madrid where he was captain for both club and country during the latter part of his final years in the Spanish capital.

Ramos has made 24 appearances for PSG in Ligue 1 so far this campaign as he hopes to win his second league title with the French giants at the end of the season.

Known for his aggressive play, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, having formerly played for Real Madrid for sixteen seasons, winning four UEFA Champions League titles along with two UEFA European Championships and the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the Spain national team.

After emerging through Sevilla's youth academy and spending two seasons with the senior side, Ramos moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2005.

Since then, he went on to become a mainstay for Real Madrid, and had won 22 major honours, including five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles, becoming one of La Liga's top goalscorers from a defensive position. 

He played a crucial part in the build-up to all four UEFA Champions League wins, being named in the competition Squad of the Season each time.

 He also scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute of the 2014 UEFA Champions League Final.

Ramos has been named to the FIFPro World11 11 times; a record for a defender, and the third-most all-time.

 He has also been elected to the UEFA Team of the Year nine times, also a record for a defender and the third-most of any player.

Ramos has been named La Liga's Best Defender a record five times, and to the La Liga Team of the Season in 2015–16.

 In 2021, he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Internationally, Ramos represented Spain at four World Cups and three European Championships. He won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012, being named to the FIFA World Cup Dream Team in 2010, and the UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament in 2012. 

He made his first appearance for Spain at the age of 18 and, in 2013, he became the nation's youngest player to ever reach 100 caps.

Ramos currently holds the record as the most capped player in the history of the Spain national team and is his country's ninth-highest all-time goalscorer.

In February 2023, Ramos announced his retirement from international football to focus on his club career.
