Andre Onana says ‘it’s a dream come true’ making his debut for Inter

Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Inter, has acknowledged that making his first-ever start for the Nerazzurri was a "dream come true" for him.

Onana joined Inter Milan on a free transfer from Ajax to become the successor to Samir Handanovic and has since then been their No 1 goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old who has made 32 appearances since joining the Nerazzurri has claimed it was a dream come true for him when he featured for the first time in Inter Milan’s shirt.

Onana replaces Handanovic 

Onana has received a lot of support from the team and has been given a difficult challenge to succeed in Handanovic.

The Cameroonian reflected on his first-ever start for Inter and what it meant to him in a statement posted on the team's official YouTube account, via FCInterNews.

After receiving the chance to start against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Onana didn't look back, participating in every minute of that competition thus far and rapidly claiming the starting position in Serie A as well.

Onana names Roger Milla as his idol

Speaking in an interview, Onana said, “I was overjoyed. We were playing against Bayern. “We lost 2-0, but I was happy to have played for such a big club at this level which was like a dream come true.”

When asked who his footballing idol is, Onana said “Good question. Growing up in Cameroon, I always thought Roger Milla was the best in the world.

“We have a great relationship. He helped me a lot when I came into the national team. So I’ll choose him.”
