Antony: €95 million Man United flop ESCAPES prosecution in Brazil over domestic violence allegations as investigations continue
Manchester United winger Antony, has recently avoided prosecution in Brazil over allegations of domestic violence made by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin.
According to Brazilian news outlet Portal G1, the São Paulo Police have concluded their investigation into the claims but have decided not to indict the footballer due to insufficient evidence.
The case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office, which will review the findings and decide whether to file formal charges.
Antony’s domestic violence allegations
Cavallin, a Brazilian DJ, initially accused Antony of domestic abuse and bodily harm in June 2023.
Despite these accusations, the investigation did not yield enough evidence for a prosecution.
Antony, who has consistently denied the allegations, faced suspension from both the Brazilian national team and Manchester United while the internal investigations were conducted.
He was later reintegrated into Manchester United's squad in September 2023.
Antony: Investigation continues in England after Brazilian police hand over case to prosecutor’s office
While the Brazilian investigation has concluded without charges, Antony still faces scrutiny in England.
Authorities are continuing their probe into related allegations of bodily harm and private imprisonment.
The ongoing investigations could potentially impact his career further, both on and off the pitch.
Antony, who was signed by Manchester United for a staggering €95 million in August 2022, has struggled to justify the hefty price tag since his arrival.
Despite the high expectations that accompanied his transfer—making him the second-most expensive signing in the club's history—his performances have not matched the significant investment made in him.
This situation has only intensified scrutiny of his off-field conduct, affecting both his reputation and career prospects.
