Aston Villa plan bold move for Inter's Argentine striker
Aston Villa are reportedly in the market for a striker following Danny Ings' exit in the winter transfer window and are said to have their eyes set on Inter's Joaquin Correa.
The 28-year-old joined Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2022 but has failed to justify his €23 million price tag.
Aston Villa monitor Correa
Sport Witness reports that Inter are looking to offload Correa this summer, and Aston Villa are interested in his services.
The Villans recently sold Danny Ings to West Ham, after the striker failed to hit the ground running since making the move from Southampton.
Unai Emery's team are said to be in the market for a replacement and have geared up for a move for Correa in the summer.
Correa has only scored nine goals for Inter since switching from Lazio in over 50 games for the club. In 18 league games this season, he has managed a paltry three goals and has seen himself fall down the pecking order of forwards, below Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku.
West Ham in pole position
Aston Villa would however have to compete with Premier League rivals West Ham for the services of Correa, with the Hammers also reportedly interested.
Despite an abundance of strikers in the squad—Michael Antonio, Danny Ings, Scamacca, and even young Divin Mubama—David Moyes is interested in Correa, and the East Londoners are reportedly in pole position.
