'Best in history' - Haaland praises Pep Guardiola after Manchester City contract extension

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has showered praise on manager Pep Guardiola, calling him the greatest manager in the world.

Guardiola has enjoyed unprecedented success at City, winning six Premier League titles, including a historic treble win in 2023, and has now extended his deal until 2027.

Haaland, who joined City in 2022, has played a big role in Guardiola's recent journey, and has continued his impressive form in the 2024/25 season, netting a league-leading 12 goals.

When asked about Guardiola, Haaland was effusive in his praise.

“He is the best manager in the world,” Haaland said

“Probably the best manager who ever existed on the earth.

“I expected lots of things from him, and he has been delivering up to this every single second. So I am super-happy and you can see that when I am playing.”

Haaland's admiration for Guardiola is evident, and now they can work together for even more years.
