The Belgian Jupiler playoffs continued with three Nigerians in action across Belgium.
Victor Boniface featured for Union Saint Gilloise while it was a battle between Raphael Onyedika and Alhassan Yusuf in the other game.
Boniface caged vs Genk
The 22-year-old was in action for 90 minutes as Union SG defeated Genk 3-0 at home.
Boniface was expertly caged by the Genk defense but it did not stop the hosts from a comprehensive win.
The Nigerian put on a good performance, creating a chance, one key pass but was yellow carded after a VAR-assisted decision found him guilty of simulation.
Teddy Teuma was, however, the star of the show after he scored a brace, with Christain Burges netting the third goal.
Onyedika falls to Yusuf’s Antwerp
In the second game of the day, it was two brothers at war as Onyedika’s Brugge and Yusuf’s Antwerp delivered a five-goal thriller.
Noa Long was the star but despite creating the first two goals of the game to give Brugge a 2-0 lead, Antwerp came from behind to steal a remarkable 3-2 win thanks to late goals.
Of the duo, only Onyedika played from start to finish while Yusuf came off the bench in the second half.
Defensive midfielder, Onyedika, finished the with three interceptions and 14 recoveries while Yusuf added four recoveries despite playing for only nine minutes.
