‘I don’t care what the media say’ - Super Eagles forward Boniface fires back on failed Milan medical at Bremen unveiling
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has fired back at media doubts regarding his fitness following a failed medical that halted his transfer to Serie A giants AC Milan.
Speaking at his unveiling with Werder Bremen, where he joined on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface dismissed speculation and insisted he is fully fit and ready to play.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has had a challenging summer, marked by setbacks including the collapse of the Milan transfer and a failed move to Saudi Arabia.
AC Milan officially pulled the plug on their pursuit of the Nigerian and Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, cancelling the much-anticipated transfer deal at the final hurdle.
The Serie A giants’ plans to sign the Nigerian forward were dashed after medical tests raised concerns, leaving Boniface devastated as a blockbuster move fell through.
However, Nigeria’s Boniface is determined to revive his career and prove his critics wrong.
In a relaxed video interview posted on X during his first media appearance with Bremen, Boniface addressed questions about his fitness directly:
“Whatever you want to believe on the media, you can believe them, that’s not on me. I don’t care. If my body is not 100%, I will be in the hospital. I will not be here talking to you.”
With his focus now firmly on making an impact at Werder Bremen, Boniface aims to silence doubters and get his career back on track in the Bundesliga.
