Bournemouth vs Manchester United: Casemiro puts Red Devils on brink of Champions League qualification with wonder-goal

With Liverpool breathing down their necks, Manchester United could not afford to drop any points in the race for the fourth and final Uefa Champions League qualification spot.

Erik ten Hag set out an XI without Marcus Rashford, looking to secure vital three points in their quest for UCL football next season. 

The Red Devils took the lead after just 10 minutes thanks to a sensational Casemiro goal. Christian Eriksen fired in a clever ball looking for the Brazilian, Marcos Senesi got a touch to the ball but Casemiro was able to swivel in the box before acrobatically striking his effort past Neto.

Ten Hag's men continued to push for a second goal but failed to apply the finishing touch on a number of occasions. 

Bournemouth had a huge chance just two minutes into the second half when David Brooks burst into the box before firing an effort on goal which De Gea was able to tip over for a corner.

The result means United need just one win from their final two games to guarantee Champions League football next season, even a draw would be enough if Liverpool drop points against Aston Villa.
