After a lengthy layoff, the German Bundesliga resumed on Friday, as Bayern Munich looked to extend their lead at the top but were held to a 1-1 draw by RB Leipzig. SC Freiburg are now five points behind and will look to take advantage of Bayern’s slip when they travel to VfL Wolfsburg.

There are other mouth-watering fixtures, as Union Berlin welcomes 1899 Hoffenheim to Stadion An der Alten Försterei, as they look to strengthen their place in the top four.

Borussia Dortmund, in sixth place, will hope that doesn't happen, as a win against FC Augsburg can take them into the top four if Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt drop points.

Here are the best betting tips from the Bundesliga, with odds from Bet9ja.

You can stake them as singles or as an accumulator.

Betting tip: Freiburg win or draw

Odds: 1.45 on Bet9ja

Freiburg have had a great season so far and will look to continue with that as the Bundesliga resumes for the year. The Breisgau Brazilians are in second place and five points behind the league leaders with a game in hand. A win this weekend will take them to within two points of Bayern, and they will look to do that away at Wolfsburg.

Freiburg have the joint-second-best away form in the league this season, picking up 14 points from a possible 24. Wolfsburg have not been great at home, so we think Freiburg should get a result there.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Schalke 04

Betting tip: Frankfurt to win

Odds: 1.40 on Bet9ja

Frankfurt will take on bottom-placed Schalke 04, and we expect nothing short of a win from the home team. Schalke have been poor all season, and we don’t see that changing in the new year.

Anything short of a win for Frankfurt will be an upset.

Betting tip: Dortmund to win

Odds: 1.32 on Bet9ja

Dortmund have not lost to Augsburg in three consecutive meetings, and the BVB are expected to stretch that run this weekend. Dortmund have an impressive home record, winning five of their seven home games so far and losing just one. Dortmund have also won their last four home games against Augsburg, and that is likely to be the result once again this weekend.

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Sunday, January 22, 17:30 (GMT+1)

Betting tip: Over 2.5

Odds: 1.57 on Bet9ja

This fixture has always produced goals, with five of their last six meetings producing over 2.5 goals. Eight of the last 10 games involving M’gladbach have also produced over 2.5 goals, while the same outcome has occurred in four of Dortmund’s last five games.
