Angola should brace itself for a hostile reception in Kasarani after tickets for their 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group A match against Kenya were declared sold out by Tuesday evening — two days to the clash.

The encounter, set for Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the refurbished 48,000-capacity Moi International Sports Centre (MISC), promises to be a feisty one both on and off the pitch.

Supporters who were ready to cheer the Harambee Stars will now be forced to watch via KBC TV, since there are no tickets available for purchase.

All the Sh200 Regular and Sh500 Silver category tickets were taken in record time, a sign of the exciting atmosphere surrounding the national team's resurgence in the tournament.

The ticket rush is carried over from Kenya's opening match against DR Congo on Sunday, which also saw a full house at Kasarani.

The sold-out games are an indicator of the passion and hype that is currently coursing through Kenyan football, especially after the team's tough 1-0 win over the Congolese.

Angola, who lost 2-0 to Morocco at Nyayo Stadium on August 3, will be under huge pressure when they confront a form and home crowd-backed Kenyan side.

There is a lot to play for â€” a win for the Harambee Stars would all but guarantee their second-round slot.

Stars Eye Another Million and Knockout Stage Slot

Motivated by a Sh1 million reward each — a personal pledge fulfilled by President William Ruto following the win over DR Congo — the Harambee Stars are hungry for more glory.

A second win on Thursday wins the team a bonus Sh1 million and, more importantly, keeps their CHAN dream alive.

The national team is riding a wave of confidence, with coach Engin Firat appealing to fans to turn up the noise and make Kasarani a fortress.

And by the look of it, the fans have complied in equal measure — packing the stadium with dedoubting energy and painted faces.

If you were fortunate enough to miss out on tickets for the Angola game, your second opportunity to see the Stars play at Kasarani is on Sunday, August 10, when Kenya plays host to African heavyweights Morocco.

Unfortunately, that game is also already sold out.
