Chelsea News: Rio Ferdinand hails Blues for completing best signing of the summer

The summer transfer window has closed, allowing Chelsea to reflect on yet another period of significant squad overhaul.

With a flurry of new faces arriving at Stamford Bridge, former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand believes one of the new Blues has proven to be the best value for money signing of the entire summer.

According to Ferdinand, the transfer of João Pedro from Brighton to Chelsea has been the most shrewd piece of business.

The 23-year-old attacker has already made a huge impact, scoring five goals in just six appearances across all competitions since joining the club.

Speaking on his show, Rio Ferdinand Presents, the pundit gave a detailed breakdown of his pick.

“I think Pedro is going to be the best value, Joao Pedro at Chelsea, out of all the [summer] transfers. I think he’s a great mix and a great addition to the Chelsea squad.

He can play centre-forward. He can play as a 10. I see him as a little bit of an 8/10 in the team. I think he’s a really, really, really good addition.”
