Chelsea attacker Joao Felix could find an unexpected temporary destination as the summer transfer window begins.

Despite a permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge being finalised last summer, the Portuguese international found himself on loan at AC Milan after falling down the pecking order in West London.

However, Milan are unlikely to activate their option to buy Felix due to his underwhelming performances in Italy.

Thus, the attacker is in a state of limbo as the next season approaches, with the Blues facing limited prospects of securing a suitable permanent transfer.

Could Felix move to Brazilian club?

Nevertheless, Sky Sports suggest a potential short-term solution may arise from Brazil, with Flamengo reportedly keeping a close watch on the situation.

The proposal indicates a possible loan move to the Brasileiro club, potentially facilitated in time for the Club World Cup in June.

The feasibility of such a transfer is complicated by the fact that Chelsea and Flamengo are drawn in the same group for the Club World Cup.

Also, it remains to be seen whether Felix would be receptive to a move to South America at this juncture of his career, regardless of the opportunity for consistent game time.

Flamengo are currently positioned in the upper echelons of the Brazilian league and are also participating in the Copa Libertadores, offering the prospect of competing for silverware.
