AC Milan manager Stefan Pioli made three changes to his team that drew 2-2 to Lecce last time out with Nigerian star Samuel Chuwkueze making the starting line-up.

Two changes were made by Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano following their 2-1 win over Bologna before the international break.

The game started with some exciting attacks from both sides as they searched for the opening goal of the game.

Despite their efforts, both teams struggled to get the first goal but AC Milan did not relent and found the back of the net in the first half of injury time.

AC Milan were awarded a penalty to get the first goal of the game after a foul was committed in the box by a Fiorentina player.

The second half started and AC Miland went in search of the second goal of the game but met a devoted Fiorentina defence line.

Fiorentina also tried to get back into the game and get an equaliser but their efforts were not enough to get them a draw.

The referee blew the whistle for full time with AC Milan securing a hard-fought victory over Fiorentina.
