Ghanaian legend Ayew set to sign for Nottingham Forest
Ghana’s World Cup star and national team captain Andre Ayew is set to sign for Premier League relegation battlers Nottingham Forest after his exploits in Qatar.
Ayew undergoing Nottingham Forest medical
Ayew is believed to be undergoing a medical with the aim of signing a six-month loan at the club.
Ayew is a free agent after leaving Qatari club, Al Sadd, at the end of his contract, and has attracted attention from both Everton and Nottingham Forest but by all indications has chosen to join Forest for the next six months, snubbing Everton, who have also lost out on other targets like Arnaut Danjuma.
Ayew will be playing in his second stint in the Premier League after representing both Swansea City and West Ham in the league between 2015 and 2021.
He will also get the chance to go up against his brother, Jordan Ayew, when Nottingham Forest take on Crystal Palace in the league on the last day of the 2022/23 season.
Ayew will be Nottingham Forest’s 28th signing
Ayew will become Forest’s 28th signing of an incredible season that has also seen them bring in seven other attacking talents that Ayew has to contend with including Nigerian forwards Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Forest quest to stay up has seen them sign more players than any other club, including top names like ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, Brazil internationals Renan Lodi and Felipe from Atletico Madrid as well as Premier League-proven Jonjo Shelvey and Chris Wood from Newcastle.
With Ayew the latest in a long line of signings, The Tricky Trees will hope that their investment pays off and that they retain their Premier League status come the end of the season.
