‘He’ll Never Do That’ - Bayern Munich Boss Reveals Secret Clause That Will Bar Nicolas Jackson from Permanent Deal
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson may have secured a big-money loan transfer to Bayern Munich but the hopes of making the deal permanent are nearly next to zero, as per a top club official.
Jackson signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea, where he fell down the pecking order in attack, with the German giants reportedly set to pay €16.5 million while the transfer also includes an obligation for the Bundesliga champions to buy him for €80 million.
That sum has been criticised in Germany as too much for a player who is set to be a backup to the main man Harry Kane but Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness insists it was a good deal for the club.

“Firstly, it was not €16.5 million, the player and his agents paid €3 million,” Hoeness said during an appearance on Doppelpass. “The player cost €13.5 million.”
“If a player costs €80 million across a five-year contract, it costs around €16 million every year, so it’s a good transfer.”
Why Will Nicolas Jackson Not Sign Permanently?
However, Hoeness was asked to explain why Bayern have to pay €80 million for a striker whose parent club did not find him good enough and he provided some interesting finer details of the deal.
“He must play 40 games as a starter. He’ll never do that,” Hoeness laughingly replied.
It is easy to see why Hoeness remains confident that Jackson will just be a stopgap option and not a big-money signing as Kane is the nailed-on starting striker at Bayern, meaning the on-loan Chelsea forward will only feature if the Englishman is rested or not available.
On the left wing, where Jackson could play, Colombian Luis Diaz is doing well there after two goals and three assists in four matches since his £65.5 million signing from Liverpool this summer while Michael Olise is undroppable on the right.
It means Jackson will find it hard to start matches hence the optimism within the Bayern hierarchy that he will not be signed permanently.
