'I do not wish him well' — Man City star Bernardo Silva reacts to latest Manchester United signing
Manchester City's Bernardo Silva has shared his thoughts on Ruben Amorim's move to Manchester United.
As a former Benfica academy player, Silva understands Amorim's impact on Portuguese football.
He praised Amorim's leadership and ability to carry everyone along, highlighting the team's remarkable turnaround in a short time.
Bernardo Silve on Ruben Amorim to Manchester United
"Before he arrived, Sporting didn't win the league for nearly 20 years, but since he's been there with the president and the sporting director, it looks like they all went in the same direction," Bernardo said.
"When that happens, and people are competent and have the same idea and go the same way, the chances of doing well are much higher."
BERNARDO 💬 I played 12 years at Benfica in the academy there and I am a fan of that side of Lisbon. My mother is a Sporting fan! Some of my best friends too. So it will be interesting tomorrow. Hopefully, I can be on the winning side. pic.twitter.com/t4jXO1TuCY

While wishing Amorim success may be difficult, Silva acknowledges his deservingness of a top-tier club.
"In terms of him going to Manchester United, I don't wish him well, but he deserves to be in one of the best clubs in the world right now.
"That is because of the work that he has done for the last few years. He will be a rival, but I am glad someone else from Portugal is in the best league in the world."
