The midfielder got his name on the scoresheet after his thunderous strike at the closing of the first half gave Club Brugge the lead.
Onyedika thought he would be the Club Brugge hero after his goal startled Guardiola's team.
However, his team collapsed in the second half and conceded three goals, with City claiming a 3-1 victory on the night.
Onyedika happy with his goal
Onyedika has expressed his happiness at scoring his first goal at the Etihad in the UEFA Champions League.
The Super Eagles star said, while speaking to Shina Oludare on X, “I don’t know how to put it, but it’s an amazing feeling to score my first goal in City’s stadium. I’m so proud.
“We knew it would be difficult after we got the first goal; we were a bit sloppy. And when we conceded the first goal, they had more momentum and energy, so it was much more difficult for us because of our mistakes.”
