‘I will leave’ — When Ruben Amorim threatened to walk out because of Cristiano Ronaldo
Pulse Sports reported earlier that Ruben Amorim joined Manchester United as the new manager, replacing Erik ten Hag.
In the wake of the 39-year-old's appointment as United boss, an old report regarding the Portuguese coach's stance on Cristiano Ronaldo has resurfaced.
Back in November 2022, Amorim was involved in a transfer saga involving former Manchester United striker Ronaldo.

Sporting were one of the clubs reportedly keen to hand the Al Nassr captain a contract after the player manufactured his own exit from Old Trafford.
Ronaldo, who suffered a public fallout with Ten Hag at the Red Devils, joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr on a free transfer in January 2023.
However, The Times stated back in 2022 that Amorim wasn't interested in signing Ronaldo, quoting:
"Ruben Amorim has intimated that he might walk out on his contract were Ronaldo signed."
This revelation suggests Amorim had significant reservations about working with Ronaldo, who, was believed to lack the required physicality to play a high pressing game.
Now, Amorim is finally leaving Sporting, but under different circumstances.
He will reportedly oversee the club's next three games before joining Manchester United, who are struggling in 14th place in the Premier League standings with 11 points from nine games.
