'It's a work in progress' - Daniel Amokachi's Lobi Stars thrashed by Ikorodu City

Daniel Amokachi's tenure as coach of Lobi Stars continues to get off to a rocky start, with a 4-2 defeat against Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The newly appointed coach of the struggling Lobi Stars was expected to lead the team to victory against the improving Ikorodu City. However, the result was the opposite, as the Oga Boys defeated them 4-2 on a hot afternoon.

"Like I always say, it's a work in progress. I've only been with the team for two weeks and we've had three straight games in a week," he said.

Amokachi also highlighted the importance of balancing experienced players with younger talent.

"We cannot have youthful players throughout your team. We have experience, and with those experiences, we know what we need to come into play," he noted.

Amokachi emphasised the need for his team to work on their movement and tactical display. He acknowledged the team's flaws and expressed his belief in their ability to improve.
