Jorginho's agent rules out Arsenal exit
Joao Santo, the agent of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, has ruled out a move away from Arsenal for the Italian amid reports linking him to the Turkish Super Lig.
The 31-year-old joined Arsenal in the winter transfer window, seemingly as a stop-gap option with the injury to Thomas Partey.
The Ghana international has since returned to fitness, and the Gunners have completed the signing of Declan Rice, who occupies similar positions on the field as Jorginho. This has hampered the former Napoli midfielder's game time, sparking reports of a move away.
What his agent said
Although the European transfer window is closed, the Turkish Market is still open, and Jorginho has been linked with Fenerbahce in the Super Lig.
His limited game time at Arsenal, which is seemingly affecting his national team status as he was not called up to the Italian national team for the international break, has opened up the possibility of a move.
Jorginho's agent rules a departure out, however, and cites the entry of a new manager as the reason his client was not called up to represent the Azzurri, assuring that he remains important.
“Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, therefore on the Premier League championship and the Champions League. He won't go to Fenerbahce,” Santo said, per TMW.
And on the matter of the national team, he said: “The coach arrived recently; he makes his choices, and that's right. It's a question of time because Jorginho is fundamental for the national team."
