Juju is involved: Reactions as Nigeria’s Olanrewaju Success d*es during fight with Ghanaian boxer

Olanrewaju faced Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana, as part of Fight Night 15 on Saturday.

The 40-year-old boxer collapsed during a match and received immediate medical attention just as he was edging towards winning the bout

However, the Nigerian light-heavyweight champion tragically passed away, potentially due to a cardiac arrest or other health issues.

A lot of comments have been made on social media following the death of Olanrewaju, with some claiming it was Juju.

The video of the boxer’s sudden death was shared on X, which has caught the attention of fans.

One fan said, “How we are not sure his used African magic on him not to kill but give him KO earlier in match.”

Another fan replied, “Ghana don carry juju enter boxing, they too like juju.”

A fan commented, ”I am so disappointed in the medical team. As a Ghanaian, I hope the medical teams do better. Don't they check them properly before the fight? God, Africa!”

A viral video captured a dramatic moment during the fight where both fighters were exchanging powerful blows. 

Olanrewaju suddenly staggered and fell to the ground, with the referee initially believing it was a knockdown, but it quickly became apparent that something was seriously wrong.

Medical personnel immediately attempted to revive him, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.

Olanrewaju's professional boxing career included 23 fights, with 13 wins (12 by knockout). Prior to his death, he had lost four consecutive bouts.
