Kenya Police have reportedly found the man to replace Burundi tactician Etienne Ndayiragije who was sent packing early this week following a string of unimpressive performances.

Police opted for a new man in the dugout following their exit from the CAF Champions League when they lost 4-1 on aggregate to Sudanese giants Al-Hilal last weekend, missing out on the lucrative group stages.

The law enforcers are now left with domestic titles to chase, chief among them is the retention of their FKF Premier League crown, and have opted for another foreign coach.

Police have cast their net wide this time and have reportedly settled on Serbian coach Dusan Stojanovic who is best remembered for ending Ugandan side AS Villa’s 10-year wait for a league title in 2024.

According to Mozzart Sport, Stojanovic has already agreed terms with the Kenyan champions and will be in the stands during Sunday’s match against Posta Rangers before his official unveiling in the coming days.

What Are Dusan Stojanovic’s Credentials?

The 44-year-old, a UEFA A licensed coach, left Villa in July 2024 but has experience on the continent, having previously served as assistant to compatriot Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic at Zamalek and Zambia’s national team.

Since leaving Villa, Stojanovic worked at Serbian Superliga side Zeleznicar Pancevo in a short stint between November 2024 and January 2025 but will be looking for a longer stay at Police.

Police are keen to retain their league crown which will earn them a return to the Champions League next year but their title defence has not gotten off to a flying start as they drew 0-0 with struggling Ulinzi Stars before beating newly-promoted Aps Bomet 1-0.

Rangers will therefore provide a tricky test as the mailmen are third on the table and coming from a two-match winless run but it will perhaps give Stojanovic an indication of the size of the job on his hands.
