They are no strangers to continental football, having debuted in last year’s CAF Confederation Cup where they eliminated Ethiopian Coffee before falling to Egyptian giants Zamalek in the second round.

Police head coach Etienne Ndayiragije exuded confidence during the pre-match briefing, highlighting the team’s readiness and depth.

“All is well so far, especially following a good preseason tournament we had in Tanzania,” he said. “We have no injuries and everyone is available, giving us the required depth.”

The Burundian tactician praised the impact of new arrivals, including former Simba SC midfielder Tansele Mosengo , and confirmed that returning internationals are ready to step up.

“Mosengobrings great experience. Having him in our team is a big boost,” he added.

Ndayiragije, however, cautioned against complacency, saying Mogadishu City deserve respect as Somali champions.

“We are not going to underrate Mogadishu because for them to reach this level means they are champions of Somalia. It’s a championship of champions and we must be ready,” he stressed.

Kenya Police captain David Cheche Ochieng echoed his coach’s confidence and called for fans to fill the stands.

“We’ve learned from last season. This time, we are more united and focused. With fans behind us, we can make history,” said Cheche.

The club has advised that internet connectivity at the gate may be unreliable, so buying tickets in advance will ensure a seamless experience on match day. Additionally, no re-entry will be permitted once inside, and each ticket will admit only one person.

Kenya Police will travel for the return leg between September 26–28, with the winner advancing to face either South Sudan’s Jamus FC Juba or Sudanese giants Al Hilal.
