Kwara United disharmonised at home by dangerous Tornadoes

It was a black day in Ilorin, as Kwara United suffered a defeat on home soil in their opening game of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Harmony boys were disharmonised by visitors Niger Tornadoes.

The visitors set out to secure a podium finish for the season when Godstime Joseph put Tornadoes ahead in the 32nd minute.

Sabiu Ibrahim extended the lead with a composed finish in the 69th minute of the encounter.

Sadeeq Yusuf pulled one back for the hosts five minutes before the end, scoring Harmony's first goal of the season.

Meanwhile, 43-year-old Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Ali continued his impressive form from last season, netting a brace against newly promoted Ikorodu City.

FIFA U17 World Cup-winning coach Amuneke suffered defeat in his debut match for Heartland against nine-time champions Enyimba.

Remo Stars won away against Abia Warriors, while Sunshine Stars began their campaign positively by defeating Bayelsa United at their adopted home in Ijebu Ode.

Nasarawa United and Shooting Stars played to a draw in Lafia, and Niger Tornadoes triumphed over Kwara United at home.
