Leicester City: Super Eagles' Iheanacho and Ndidi get Man City coach as new boss
Nigeria Super Eagles duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi will return to Leicester City to meet a new man in charge of the club.
Leicester have confirmed the appointment of Italian manager Enzo Maresca as the new manager of the club with the Nigerians on international duty.
Iheanacho and Ndidi are away with Nigeria as the Super Eagles look to seal a ticket to the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast against Sierra Leone.
Maresca named a new boss at Leicester
The 43-year-old has been named as the new man in charge at the King Power as he replaces Dean Smith.
Maresca joins the Foxes from England and European champions Manchester City and has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
“Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Enzo Maresca as our new First Team Manager,” the club stated in a statement on their official website.
According to the club, the talented manager has been mandated to lead the club’s goal to return swiftly to the Premier League following their relegation to the Championship.
“Maresca to lead Leicester’s Championship promotion bid after signing a three-year deal,” the club added in the statement.
The Italian arrives in Leicester having most recently worked as a first team coach with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, whom he helped to a Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League treble in 2022/23.
