Madueke to Arsenal: Transfer expert dismisses Jose Mourinho link-up rumours for another Gunners forward
Noni Madueke is expected to join Arsenal from Chelsea imminently after an agreement was reached between the clubs.
With rumours growing this week about the winger’s future and personal terms being agreed, news broke on Thursday that both London clubs have agreed terms on a transfer fee in excess of £50m, prompting opprobrium from Gooners.
Madueke, whose role during Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign has been limited, is expected to complete the transfer after Sunday’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
How does Madueke fit in at Arsenal?
Although naturally a right winger, Madueke’s impact could be limited due to Bukayo Saka’s presence in the group and Ethan Nwaneri’s growth in the concluded season during Saka’s absence.

However, Enzo Maresca mostly utilised the young Chelsea forward on the left flank towards the end of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign which drew encouraging performances from the England international.
While Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard currently occupy that role at Arsenal, rumours have swirled about their futures, with the Belgian linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has denied that Trossard is in talks to move to the Turkish Super Lig.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion forward joined Mikel Arteta’s side in the winter transfer window in 2023 after Chelsea signed Arsenal’s primary target, Mykhailo Mudryk, from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Trossard has since scored 21 times in 92 Premier League appearances for Arteta's team, while netting 28 goals in 124 altogether.
What’s next for Arsenal?
Arsenal will begin pre-season imminently as they seek to mount a sustainable Premier League challenge in 2025-26.
