Onana’s deputy, Altay Bayindir, who played in that match, unfortunately made a costly error leading to Arsenal’s winner, an incident that dominated post-game discussions.

Arsenal were awarded a corner in the 13th minute, which was expertly delivered by Declan Rice.

Manchester United goalkeeper Bayındır misjudged the flight of the ball and, in an attempt to clear it, punched it straight into the path of Ricardo Calafiori, who calmly tapped it into an empty net.

It became the biggest talking point from the game, even though replays showed that Arsenal’s William Saliba obstructed the Turkish goalie and Mason Mount.

Despite this, Amorim kept his cards close to his chest when asked about his choice for the Fulham game.

Speaking via the Manchester United YouTube channel, the Portuguese tactician said, “Onana is ready to play like last week [vs Arsenal]. So, we will see in the game who is going to be the goalkeeper. The rest of the guys are fit and ready to play.”

The coach also stressed the importance of maintaining focus on the team’s performance rather than the swirling transfer rumours surrounding the club.

“My attention is primarily on Sunday’s match,” Amorim added, underlining his commitment to preparing the squad for the challenge ahead.

As Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey line up for Fulham, Amorim’s eventual decision between Onana and Bayindir will surely be a key talking point, a choice that could prove decisive in Manchester United’s quest for early season success.
