Manchester United fans angry with Casemiro after Mainoo's injury blow
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has come under serious criticism from Manchester United fans following an injury to teammate Kobbie Mainoo.
United fans are disappointed and gutted after the club issued an injury update on youngster Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo suffered a knock during the pre-season clash against Real Madrid in the United States on Thursday morning.
Casemiro’s role in Mainoo’s injury
Kobbie was handed his fourth start in pre-season against LALIGA giant Real Madrid but lasted just a few minutes against Los Blancos.
He picked up a knock after Brazilian forward Rodrygo landed on his leg following a tackle from his United teammate Casemiro.
The 18-year-old was subsequently forced off, leaving the stadium on crutches. But fans hoped the injury was not as serious as it looked.
On Saturday morning, however, the Red Devils released an update that did not go down well with the fans.
According to a statement on their website, Mainoo will miss the first half of the new season due to an ankle picked up in that challenge against Real.
“Manchester United can confirm that Kobbie Mainoo suffered an ankle injury during the match against Real Madrid on Tour 2023,” the statement read.

Following the knock and confirmation that the Red Devils will be without Mainoo for a while, United fans took to their social media to make their feelings known.
The fans called out their Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro, with some expressing their anger for what was described as an unnecessary tackle.
