Marcus Rashford: Barcelona face strong opposition as new suitor emerges for Man United's star
Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly entered the race for Marcus Rashford and will look to exploit Barcelona's inactivity. The 27-year-old is keen on joining the Blaugrana; however, the LALIGA champions have been stalling.
Barcelona stall on Rashford
As Pulse Sports reported, Barcelona pivoted towards a move for Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford after Nico Williams signed a contract renewal with Athletic Club.
With Williams no longer an option and Luis Diaz’s move complicated by Bayern Munich’s interest and Liverpool's refusal to sell, Rashford has quickly become the most attainable name on Barca’s shortlist.
According to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, Hansi Flick has personally approved the move, signalling the club’s intent to press ahead with a formal approach. However, there is a huge stumbling block, as sporting director Deco is not convinced by the Italy international.
Juventus to capitalise
According to Italian publication Tuttosport, Juventus, which have been negotiating with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho, have emerged as a contender for the former Aston Villa man.
Per the report, Juventus are willing to sign the player on a permanent deal, as desired by Manchester United, rather than the loan with an option to buy that Barcelona were offering.
