The English talent, aged 15 years and 309 days, shattered Youssoufa Moukoko's record when he entered the game in the 73rd minute with the score already at 3-0.

Moukoko was 16 years and 18 days old when he represented Borussia Dortmund five years ago.

It's been a whirlwind week for Dowman, who just last week became the youngest player to start for Arsenal in their 2-0 League Cup victory over Brighton, and now adds the Champions League's youngest debutant to his burgeoning resume.

Manager Mikel Arteta spoke about what makes Dowman so mature for his age, earning him a place on such grand stages at just 15.

"What he's shown on the pitch — he comes on, in the first play he goes straight at them, tries to dribble, wins a foul. That's personality, that's courage, and you can't teach that.

You either have it or you don't. And it doesn't matter what his passport says — he's put in this context and he manages to adapt and put in a good performance. I'm very happy with that," Arteta praised.

Following their 3-0 triumph over Slavia Prague, Arsenal remains undefeated after four matches, leading the group alongside Bayern Munich with 12 points.

This marks Arsenal's tenth consecutive victory across all competitions, having kept clean sheets in their last eight outings.
