'Mbappe calls me every two hours' - Konate opens up on Real Madrid interest
Ibrahima Konate has emerged as a prime target for Real Madrid as they look to bolster their squad next year.
The French international's contract with Liverpool is set to expire, and with no signs of an extension, the "Whites" could capitalize on the situation.
What Konate said
The defender recently addressed the speculation in an interview with "Telefoot," via Sportal, playfully referencing his teammate Kylian Mbappe, who has already made the move to the Bernabeu.
A journalist noted that the Spanish press has linked Konate with Real Madrid and asked if Mbappe was pressuring him to sign with the club next year. "Yes, Kylian calls me every two hours," Konate quipped with a laugh.
The defender's contract is up next year, and numerous clubs, including Real Madrid, are closely monitoring the situation surrounding one of European football's top central defenders.
