The French superstar's comments come after Liverpool's stunning transfer window, which saw them spend over £400 million, including a British record deal for striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Other marquee signings, such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, have only strengthened Liverpool's position as title favorites, but Mbappée believes the trophy will head elsewhere.

"Of course, Liverpool has to be mentioned first and foremost, as they’re determined to win one title after another," he said.

"But I also have high hopes for Arsenal, because the core of the team has known each other for a long time, and that’s a crucial factor in football. And Manchester City is always at the forefront anyway, with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland."

When pressed for a definitive prediction, the Real Madrid star admitted it was a difficult choice, ultimately favoring the Gunners.

"That’s tough, maybe Arsenal, maybe it will be their year. It would certainly be easier to say Man City or Liverpool."

Liverpool still on top

Liverpool currently sits two points clear at the top of the table, having won all three of their opening matches, including a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Anfield just before the international break.

The victory gave Liverpool an early advantage in the title race, but Mbappe's prediction adds an intriguing layer to what is shaping up to be a thrilling season.
