Mbuemo asks Man United for 5x his current salary
Cameroon international Bryan Mbuemo has prioritised joining Manchester United over other clubs; however, he is reportedly demanding five times his current wages at Brentford.
Mbuemo says yes to United
The 25-year-old had a career-high 20 Premier League goals for a mid-table Brentford this season, further cementing himself as one of the best footballers in the division. Hence, he was been linked with a number of clubs, with Manchester United now leading the race.
This is according to a report from the Athletic’s David Ornstein, who revealed that the Bees winger decided that he wanted a future at Old Trafford and would listen to Manchester United's offer above others.
Per the report, he was also courted by Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, but he chose the Theatre of Dreams as his preferred destination.
Mbuemo's wage demands
After getting the green light from the player, the Red Devils were expected to only have to worry about negotiating with Brentford, who are expected to demand north of Mbuemo's €55 million valuation.
However, according to a report from The Times, the Cameroonian wants £250,000 in weekly wages, a fee that would place him amongst the top earners at the club.
The former Troyes winger currently earns a reported £50,000 a week at Brentford. His alleged demands from Manchester United would be five times his current salary.
