Salah was not impressed when a Liverpool fan account made what he deemed disrespectful comparisons between Nunez and Diaz with new signings Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

Isak and Wirtz both joined Liverpool for a combined £241 million as the Premier League champions smashed the British transfer record for the former and fans have been excited by the new acquisitions.

The transfers were funded in part by the sell of Nunez and Diaz and the feeling among Liverpool supporters is that their replacements are a major upgrade.

“Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history,” Anfield Edition posted on X while accompanying the comment with a photo that had Nunez and Dias faded in black while Wirtz and Isak were in red.

How Did Salah React to Diaz, Nunez Comparison?

However, Salah was quick to react, telling the account not to lose respect for his former team-mates after what they did for the club.

“How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions?” Salah posed in response to the comment.

Diaz made 148 appearances for Liverpool while scoring 41 goals and adding 23 assists before his £65 million transfer to Bayern this summer and he has started life in Germany in brilliant fashion as he has three goals and two assists in four games for Vincent Kompany’s team.

Nunez, meanwhile, was sold to the Saudi Pro League giants for a reported €53 million after three years at Liverpool, where he scored 40 goals in 143 games across all competitions.
