Super Eagles star Bright Osayi was left out of the squad following a two-yellow card suspension. Dzeko, Tadic and El-Nesyri led the attack for Mourinho.

The home side counted on their early dominance and got the first goal through a header from Ousmane Diao.

However, just before halftime, the visitors equalised from Youssef En Nesyri’s goal to restore parity.

Entering into the second half, Fenerbahce’s striker Edin Dzeko gave Mourinho’s team a surprising lead.

Fenerbahce were heading for a win when the host got the equaliser from Valdemar Byskov inside the box.

The result saw Mourinho’s team narrowly seal a place in the playoffs after finishing 24th on the Europa League table.
