Naija Super 8: 3-star Remo Stars stop Shooting from reaching for the Stars
CAF Champions League-bound Remo Stars have continued from where they stopped in the NPFL Super 6 after claiming more bragging rights against Shooting Stars in Eket.
Remo proved just too good for their Southwestern neighbours following a 3-0 thrashing in the Naija Super 8 Playoffs on Friday evening.
Seun Ogunribide was one of the stars of the day as the Ikenne-based Stars put on a show to seal a ticket to the next round.
Ogunribide inspires Remo Stars
The playmaker was at his creative best having been involved in two of the goals scored by Remo Stars.
It was his brilliant work that led to the opening goal after just seven minutes as Andy Okpe gave the Sky Blues a deserved lead.
Four minutes later, Boniface Nwaeze doubled the lead following another excellent work from that man Oguniribide to give Remo a comfortable lead at the break.
In the second half, Daniel Ogunmodede’s men wrapped up the win when Samuel Anakwe made it 3-0 with 16 minutes left to play.
It was a dominant win for the Remo boys, who recently sealed a historic CAF Champions League spot after a brilliant second-place finish in the NPFL Super 6 in Lagos.
With the victory, Remo Stars have secured a ticket to the Naija Super 8 final slated for next month in Lagos.
