Nigeria vs Cameroon: Girl with the blue hair leads 3 others to Super Falcons camp early for Lionesses
Nigeria’s Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, will be among the first players to arrive at the team’s camp in Ijebu-Ode on Monday, ahead of Nigeria’s clash against Cameroon’s Lionesses.
Joining Ajibade as early birds are Spain-based forward Omorinsola Babajide, Michelle Alozie, and PSG midfielder Jennifer Echegini, according to the NFF.
Ajibade, 25, who recently said her goodbyes to Atletico Madrid, featured 22 times this season and scored seven goals and provided three assists in the LigaF.
The skipper will be hoping to bring that form to the Super Falcons as Nigeria looks to continue their recent turn in form against neighbours Cameroon.
Other notable players expected to join the camp on Monday include midfielder Toni Payne, Deborah Abiodun, and Ifeoma Onumonu.
Defenders Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Shukurat Oladipo, Sikiratu Isah, and Blessing Ilivieda will also be present, alongside goalkeepers Linda Jiwuaku and Morufa Ademola.
Midfielders Amarachi Odoma and Josephine Mathias, as well as forwards Francisca Ordega and Olamide Bolaji, the Remo Stars Ladies sensation, will complete the group arriving on Monday.
Former junior international Miracle Usani and forward Emem Essien are also set to join the camp on the same day.
First-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, while Portugal-based midfielder Christy Ucheibe will fly in on Wednesday.
The Super Falcons will hold their training sessions at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo as they prepare for the first leg of their two-match series against Cameroon.
The first match is set for Saturday, 31st May, while the second encounter will take place on Tuesday, 3rd June, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
As nine-time African champions, the Super Falcons are gearing up to face the 2016 Women AFCON runners-up in what promises to be an intense and exciting showdown.
