Nigeria vs Libya: Super Eagles to play AFCON Qualifiers on October 11 in Uyo

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will host the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, October 11.

The reverse fixture between both teams will take place at the Tripoli International Stadium four days later.

The Super Eagles started their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 home win against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

The three-time African champions were held to a 0-0 draw by the Amavubi of Rwanda in their second group game.

Nigeria currently occupy the top spot in Group D with four points from two games, while Libya is bottom of the group after amassing just one point from a possible six.

Only the top teams in each group will advance to the tournament proper in Morocco beginning in December 2025.

Meanwhile, the team might be coached by Austin Eguavoen who led the Super Eagles against the Benin Republic and Rwanda, with the team impressing in both games.

The Super Eagles have maintained the 39th place in the world ranking following the newly released list by FIFA.

Nigeria's national team have maintained their position on the FIFA ranking and is still ahead of their fellow African counterparts.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are still ahead of Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon and Algeria on the list.
