It was a very interesting start to the Nigeria National League, NNL, Super 8 playoffs in Asaba with four superb matches.

Katsina United win
In what was the opening game of the playoffs at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Katsina United got things off to a brilliant start.
United rpoved too good for DMD FC following a 2-1 win.
Katsina are one of the favorites expected to pick one of the four NPFL spots on offer.
Kano Pillars overcome scare
In the second game of the day, former NPFL champions joined Katsina United to seal a first win of the playoffs.
Pillars defeated EFCC FC by a narrow 1-0 win to begin their quest for a quick return to the Football League in the best possible manner.
Sporting Lagos join the winners club
Looking for their first-ever season in the nation’s top flight, Sporting Lagos left it late to see off One Rockets FC.
In what was one of the most keenly anticipated encounters on the day, Odafi Emmanuel proved to be the difference maker following his late winner to give the Tech boys a deserved 1-0 win.
Elsewhere on the day, it was a goalless affair between Heartland and Stomers.
