Not Man City nor Liverpool, De Zerbi tags Arsenal best in Premier League

Brighton’s boss, Roberto De Zerbi, believes Arsenal are the best team in the Premier League this season, after Mikel Arteta’s side were utterly superior in their Premier League clash earlier in the day.  

The Gunners defeated the Seagulls 2-0 at the Emirates to reclaim first place in the Premier League.

After a dominant but unlucky first half, the hosts stepped up their game and scored in the 53rd minute on a Gabriel Jesus strike. In the 87th minute, German international Kai Havertz finished coolly past Bart Verbruggen to give the scoreline a more certain air.

"Arsenal played much better than us,” the Italian manager said in the post match conference.

“They deserved to win the game. We suffered a lot. I think Arsenal are one of the best; maybe this season the best team in the Premier League. We are not used to suffering in this way. We are used to controlling the game.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s rising star, Ethan Nwaneri, was the centre of attention after an excellent five-star performance for the under-18s. 

The British-born Nigeria put on the show in the FA Youth Cup played at Meadow Park to help Arsenal book a place in the fourth round of the competition.

Nwaneri, 16, proved to be the show's star as a second-half masterclass saw Arsenal put behind them an early setback to score seven goals.
