Osayi cameo as Mourinho’s halftime tactical team talk inspires Fenerbahce to a thrilling comeback win
Jose Mourinho’s men had a disappointing first half, and their poor performance led to a one-goal deficit.
However, in the second half, they turned things around and completed a comeback to win the game 3-2.
As it happened
Super Eagles star Bright Osayi failed to make the starting lineup and was left to watch from the bench by Mourinho.
Fenerbahce started the game looking shaky, which was costly for them in the first half. They conceded the first goal in the 25th minute after a Romulo cutback found Juan Santos, who buried the ball into the top left corner.
The host turned the tie around in the second half, scoring three quick goals with Youssef En Nesyri having a brace and Oguz Aydin adding the third.
Although Novatus Miroshi scored a goal late in the game to make it 3-2, the visitors were unable to secure a draw.
Mourinho’s men held on until the final whistle as they completed a comeback after their dismal first-half performance.
