In a hot-tempered first half, Fenerbahce thought they had taken the lead, only for their goal to be disallowed due to a foul on Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

The decision triggered widespread protests from Mourinho’s side, setting the tone for an intense encounter.
The flashpoint came just after the half-hour mark when Osimhen went down in the box after a push, only for his penalty appeals to be waved away.
Frustrated, the Nigerian striker turned toward Mourinho and made a "silence" gesture, a move that immediately escalated tensions.
The gesture led to confrontations between both benches, with Mourinho and Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk receiving yellow cards as tempers boiled over.
No love lost between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce
Mourinho has previously taken subtle digs at Osimhen, criticising the striker’s tendency to "dive too much" after his summer loan move to Galatasaray, but is is unclear whether his prior remarks added to the tension in the derby.

The Portuguese reportedly coach later entered the referees’ changing room to commend Slovenian official Slavko Vincic on what he deemed a well-officiated match, particularly for not awarding Osimhen a penalty.
Despite Fenerbahce’s second-half push for a winner, Muslera’s heroics ensured the points were shared as Galatasaray maintained their unbeaten home record.
The result favours Galatasaray, who maintain a six-point cushion at the top of the Turkish Super Lig. With 12 games left, Fenerbahce now face an a tough task to overtake their fierce rivals and claim the league title.
